Terms of Service

1.Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the TathaAstu Panchang API ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2.API Usage

• You must register for an account and obtain an API key to access the Service
• Your API key is personal and must not be shared or published publicly
• Usage is subject to the rate limits and quotas of your selected plan
• Automated scraping, bulk downloading, or systematic harvesting of the API is prohibited
• Caching and storing responses to run your own application is permitted — see Caching and Data Storage below

3.Plans and Billing

• Free tier: 500 requests/month with limited features
• Paid plans: billed monthly or annually as per the selected plan
• Exceeding your plan limits will result in request blocking until the next billing cycle
• Plan downgrades take effect at the next billing cycle

4.Prohibited Uses

You agree NOT to:

• Resell, redistribute, or sublicense TathaAstu data as a standalone dataset, or use it to build a competing Panchang or calendar data service, on any plan, unless separately licensed in writing
• Attempt to reverse-engineer the API or underlying algorithms
• Use the Service for any illegal or harmful purpose
• Exceed rate limits or attempt to circumvent usage restrictions
• Share your API key or allow unauthorized access
• Bulk-download or systematically harvest the dataset, or redistribute it as a standalone dataset
• Use caching, multiple accounts, or multiple API keys to circumvent the limits of your plan

5.Caching and Data Storage

Running an application means keeping a copy of what you asked for. The following is expressly permitted:

• Caching API responses on your own servers
• Serving those cached responses to the users of your application, without a fresh API request for each end user
• Storing API responses in your own database where reasonably necessary to operate your application
• Retaining those cached responses for as long as reasonably necessary to operate your application, subject to the terms applicable to your account

Using cached API responses inside your own application is permitted; redistributing the underlying TathaAstu dataset as a separate data product or service is not. Caching does not transfer ownership of the underlying dataset or grant redistribution rights. In particular you may not publish or expose the dataset as a standalone dataset, sell or license it, build a competing general-purpose Panchang or festival data service from it, give third parties access to it as a substitute for using the API, present it as your own independently sourced data, or use caching to stay within a plan limit you would otherwise exceed — see Prohibited Uses. If our published data is materially corrected or updated, refresh the affected cached results using the data-version information described in our API documentation — see Changes to Data and Advance Notice.

6.Changes to Data and Advance Notice

Where we make a material change to already-published Panchang or festival data that could affect results you have already cached, we aim to give affected API customers two to three days’ advance notice where reasonably practicable. That notice will say what changed, which endpoints or data are affected, when it takes effect, and whether you should refresh cached data. This applies to material changes in published data — not to routine deployments, performance work or other internal changes that do not alter the results you receive. Urgent corrections are the exception: a critical calculation or data error, a security issue, or a legal or regulatory requirement may be applied sooner, because we will not knowingly keep serving a value we know to be wrong, and we will notify affected customers as soon as reasonably practicable.

7.Reporting Problems and Requests

We welcome reports from API customers: a missing festival, an incorrect regional observance, a missing field, a calculation that disagrees with your authority, an inconsistency in our documentation, or a feature you need. We review every such report and, where appropriate, add or improve the supported calculations and data. Write to support@tathaastuapi.com or raise a ticket from your dashboard.

8.Data Accuracy

While we strive for maximum accuracy using Swiss Ephemeris and traditional Panchang algorithms, astronomical data and festival dates are provided for informational purposes. We do not guarantee 100% accuracy for all edge cases.

9.Intellectual Property

All API data, algorithms, documentation, and branding are the intellectual property of Tebibyte Infotech Pvt. Ltd. Your API subscription grants you a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to use the data within your application.

10.Service Availability

We aim for 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Scheduled maintenance will be communicated in advance when possible.

11.Limitation of Liability

Tebibyte Infotech Pvt. Ltd. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service. Our total liability is limited to the amount paid by you in the 12 months preceding any claim.

12.Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access for violation of these terms, non-payment, or abuse. You may cancel your account at any time through the dashboard.

13.Changes to Terms

We may update these terms periodically. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

14.Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in New Delhi, India.
